Memorial for the Victims of Homicide

Interfaith Paths to Peace, Christ Church Cathedral and the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky will host a spiritual gathering honoring the memory of the 54 victims of homicide whose lives were taken in 2011 in Louisville Metro. This special Episcopal religious service is free and open to persons of all religions and also to persons who do not identify with any religion.
The Memorial Service will include prayers, music, readings, as well as lighting of candles for the fallen.
The names of the homicide victims will be read aloud.
At the conclusion of the service the Cathedral bell will be tolled once for each of the 54 homicide victims as those gathered process to the Cathedral's Memorial Garden.
The service will feature presentations by the Rt. Rev. Terry White, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky; the Very Rev. Mark Bourlakas, Dean of the Cathedral; David Lipp, Cantor of Louisville's Jewish Congregation Adath Jeshurun; Lt. Barry Wilkerson of the LMPD Homicide Division; Peace Activist Christopher 2x; and arepresentative of the families who lost a loved one to homicide in 2011.
