About Interfaith paths to peace

Who We Are

Interfaith Paths to Peace (IPP) works to educate, advocate, coordinate and empower cooperative action in Louisville for social transformation and renewal. Since our beginnings in 1996, we have centered our peacebuilding initiatives in four areas: community-based violence interruption, multi-sector coalition building, interfaith understanding and collaboration, and migrant/refugee welcome and integration. We generate initiatives that unite and organize people of diverse faiths, races, cultures, and traditions to create a more just society in which we all get to experience wellbeing, and we are committed to uplifting the voices of marginalized and underrepresented communities.

IPP hosts a team of Violence Interrupters working in the Shawnee neighborhood to reduce interpersonal gun violence one person at a time. IPP also hosts the Louisville Alliance for Sustainable Gun Violence Reduction and the Kentucky Interfaith Network, both of which impact communities beyond the city limits. Our Board of Directors includes community leaders from diverse backgrounds, faiths, racial identities, and cultural origins.
